You can enter pre- and post-backup commands for Linux clients using the Backup option procedures. For instructions on using backup options, see About backup options. Running long pre- and post-backup commands can cause backups to fail. To prevent this, adjust the timeouts in the client’s full master.ini file as described in KB 3107.
